The Door Open kit lights the footwell area of your van just like a modern car. Lights turns on and off when you open either front door to light the footwell area for you and your passengers. Color is Warm white.
The Version 2.0 Door light kit includes the Door Open Push Button to further customize your installation. Installation of the button allows you to disable the door-open function or turns on lights when the door is closed (perfect for camping!).
The LED’s draw very little power and are the perfect amount of light for the Vanagon interiors. Check out the YouTube video below as well as plenty of pictures that capture where the light hits. Installation instructions provided. LED draw for the Door Open kit is 4W .35A when on.

This unit is an inexpensive, yet quality upgrade into the 21st century. It is equally aesthetically pleasing as it is a safety measure. Before installation, a beverage had fallen out of my makeshift cup holder and onto the cabin floor. As I was driving around a winding mountain road, I was panicking that the lid had come off of the cup and was pouring onto my cabin floor. Driving around curves, shifting, steering, watching the road and reaching for the glove box light in the dark was stressful. If I had these foot well lights at the time, it would have been easy to simply look and see what I needed to.
