Short Review: absolutely great product. I would buy this product again, and I would recommend this to any MK2 enthusiast who doesn’t have a gauge.
Long Review: So, at fist opening the package, I was somewhat disappointed because I was expecting a stamped plastic or molded plastic gauge. Instead, I found a 3D printed plastic gauge. I was skeptical about the durability and actual functionality of the gauge, and also concerned about the accuracy of the fine measurements. I later whipped out my micrometer, and low and behold, all of the measurements were spot on. The next day, I had some free time to mess with my car (1988, VW Jetta) and used the gauge in accordance with the instructions in the Bentley repair manual (which took about 15 mins). The gauge worked great and I now have no issues with gear selection.
Prior to getting this gauge, I had always “eyeballed” or used a homemade gauge and the, “it feels right” method to adjust my linkage; which often resulted in a prolonged process of getting it just right. This gauge saved me a lot of time and headache, and also got rid of my second gear grind cause from bad shifter linkage alignment. Greatly pleased with the entire process; from the quick processing times, fast shipping, and quality and accuracy of the product.
